Truth. As a side thought we express these disciplines as a way to get what 'WE' want. What we want is chosen from a list of tantalizing things presented to us by a world that wants our demise, not our empowerment.
What I need is to be what God created me to be. I might not have the foggiest idea what that is, but God knows.
There are parts where these two philosophies intersect. Proper sleep, nutrition, diligence. The difference is having diligence in pursing God rather than chasing after what I want or even what I think God wants for me.
Being a military commander was never even a wild dream to Joan of Arc, and being burned at the stake for it wasn't great for her 'self-actualization.' However if she had done anything else, we wouldn't be talking about her today.
All I ever need to do is to keep saying yes to God. The rest will get worked out.
