Interesting how much the award has been dominated by a small group of players compared to those of other sports. The three players above along with Brady and Manning are responsible for 14 of the 17 wins since 2007.
The counts for other leagues:
NBA: 9 (James, Rose, Durant, Curry, Westbrook, Harden, Antetokounmpo, Jokic, Embiid)
NHL: 10 (Crosby, Ovechkin, Perry, Malkin, Kane, McDavid, Hall, Kucherov, Draisaitl, Matthews)
AL: 8 (Verlander, Trout, Donaldson, Altuve, Betts, Abreu, Ohtani, Judge)
NL: 11 (Votto, McCutchen, Kershaw, Harper, Bryant, Stanton, Yelich, Bellinger, Freeman, Goldschmidt, Acuna)
