Headline should be: "We're getting less Creative due to reliance on technology", based on the content.
The story in the article seems to be: "left hemisphere of our brains are about systems, process, ... analytical, right is more artistic" and "intelligence is rooted in the right hemisphere.. which is dominated today by the left"
If you read on this subject, we are cyborgs using internet to expand our knowledge with google/wikipedia. This expands our left, and suppresses the right hemisphere, which is artistic and open.
Intelligence is not rooted in right hemisphere, but Creativity is. Dreams are created by the right.
Intelligence relies heavily on creativity, but its not the same. New generations are more evolved to process large amounts of information and retain links than storing facts in memory. Its a different "connected" way of thinking, with Pros and Cons. They are likely much less Creative than their parents.

Well how many school age children can still tell the time via an analog clock?

I am not even sure that most of these people can feed themselves.
