In human nature man reacts in 2 ways when confronting any kind of danger: man would run away from the situation, or stand their ground and fight. This isn’t just relevant to nature, but also to the way that military/ the state defends itself in times of war; for when the enemy(s) are at the doorstep of the nation who does the state call upon to take that one last stand? The answer is simple they call upon the people.
It does not matter the system of that state government, for when push come to shove, they look to finding anyone who can pick up a gun. For example when both Stalin and Hitler we’re invading each other they both called everyone to arms in and near their respect capital cities. Which is ironic, seeing how both heads of states disarmed their civilian core; so that way the people would have a harder time over throwing them if worst came to worst.
If the state can defend itself from foreign and domestic enemies. Why can’t the average individual in side their own household? For to quote Huey long “Every Man A King”, thus a man house hold: is his castle, his car: is his chariot, and himself: a noble; and just like all noble they have the right to defend them from people seeking to hurt them and/or seeking to do great harm to their property. Thus, it should be considered a human right for one to defend themselves, their family, their property, and, even, their Friends and neighbors from all forms of danger that comes their way.
Which is why I think that some states should make stand your grand laws into rights under their own respective Constitution, cause we need to send a message to DC that the right to keep and bear arms also means the right to stand and us those same arms from all combatants both domestically and foreign.
Also I’m going to get this out of the way, yes I know that “Huey long” was basically a socialist, but I like his slogan of “Every man a King”.
