Yes, I know the government has efficiently eroded away individual rights, but that is not what I am looking for.

Whenever I develop an opinion on something, I try to shape my opinion in not just things I agree with. I try to see things from the other side, and to do this, I usually try to get into the mindset of the other person. In this case, it is someone who feels the state/federal government is the most efficient way to get something done (versus private industry) and should be given the power to handle something like healthcare for example. Yes, I know, I can come up with several reasons where the government has screwed them and enacted inefficient policies, but I am looking for the other perspective.

So, are there any examples of the government doing something efficiently?
