Because while I do feel bad for the fans that grew up with these bigger teams, I just can’t find a reason to care much. Most G5 fans accept that we don’t have as much money, most of the top players are going to pass over our teams, and frankly there’s no clear path to a championship. If anything, the top schools breaking away makes the goal of a national championship a possibility. I’d love to hear opinions of other small school fans, and I’d love to hear why I should care more and how this is a bad thing for the sport as a whole (which I do agree with).
