Someone posted a thread here yesterday asking what good the government does, and the statists outed themselves by listing off all the government programs without irony as to how ineffective and wasteful those programs are. As in the thread, you always hear statists say things like you got your quality education because of the state, despite the fact that K-12 in the US is the worst in the developed world. However, they don't seem to realize that none of this is free.
Statists think that programs can only exist because the government provides it for free. As if no one would pay to have their kids educated or no one would chip in a few bucks to make NASA happen. And statists never once wonder if the cost of government is worth it. They conveniently ignore (or maybe praise) the trillions we spend bombing people with my skin color in the middle east. They ignore mass incarceration (or somehow blame Capitalism). They ignore Jim Crow laws. They ignore laws restricting health care that can be provided to everyone.
Statists ignore the costs of all state actions.
