this is kind of why I don't generally like most organizations. there is no real freedom or tolerance in them.
like on that other post, I mentioned I didn't like a lot of sports because they're politicized. I mean things like drug testing too, like I don't really care to test an athlete on if they're doing legal or illegal drugs or not. If it's a test purely of performance enhancers, ok maybe. But still I don't really care about that. People often will claim they're natty on the honor system and it often doesn't matter in certain competitions. I like seeing more people compete against themselves. I don't think the business market is regulating performance enhancers (although they may drug test in some businesses).
But anyway yeah a lot of these organizations seem to push artificial conformity. Conforming to Christian principles, I'm ok with. Everything else, I often like to see freedom for different approaches. Granted there may be a Christian argument against supporting Putin. But idk if this warrants banning a person from a competition over. Is it not sufficient to complain about the person, and beat them fairly in competition to show their view wrong in that way in a sense?-

I understand how there should be some amount of standards for being a public figure -- .e.g, do not be a murderer or some other criminal in order to participate but we are literally talking about people banning internationally recognized, super famous chess players from participating for six months over their support of their own national policies.
It's crazy.
