The base being so close to the Polish border makes it obvious that it was a false attack carried out by Ukrainian terrorists to get NATO involved. Zalensky's trying to start a world war because he knows the Ukraine can already be considered an integral part of Russia. He's a madman.

UA said that 35 troops were killed, probably foreigners sleeping in the Barracks and some UA recruiting guys
Russia said they killed 180 foreigners there, and warned foreigners wouldn't be treated as POWs rather serious criminals who may be executed
Since Russia officially claimed responsibility, I don't think its false flag. I think they want to take out NATO vets who are coming to join

Russia probably took the responsibilty just because they want to make other foreigners leave the Ukraine. Since the Ukraine's army has already surrendered, the propaganda-blinded foreigners and a few Ukrainians guerilla fighters are the only ones causing trouble here.

I have a different take: this was about the convoy of weapons coming in. The West is sneaking materials in through Poland just like Russia is sneaking stuff in through Belarus.
