Comment on How come I am now @patnou instead of Don_Dickle. I know I had to redo My whole account but would have liked to have my old account back since I had 80 unread messages there? Anyway to make this happen

no. you sent us an email from the address linked to the other account, which clearly proves that you still have access to that email address. control over that email address is how you prove that the account belongs to you.

you can use the forgot password link visible on the login page to receive an email to set a new password for the lemmy account as long as you have access to the linked email address.
