Not absurd. Chat apps are easy to out together, heck, with a quick google you’ll find a tonne you can just deploy for yourself.
And with big tech watching along, it only becomes more interesting to make your own. Meanwhile some governments are trying to push trough legislation to scan all your private messages on popular apps like telegram and WhatsApp.
