Forgive my ignorance, but is Suigi new in the scene? I remember Puncayshun and Cheese, but it’s been a few years since I kept up with mario64 speedruns

If I recall correctly he is relatively new. Karl Jobst has made a few interesting videos about Suigi and his career.
