At 57 and 63 your parents shouldn’t be quite as bad as you say they are. This sounds like significant cognitive decline to me. I would expect such behaviour ten or twenty years later, but 57 is very young for this level of cognitive degradation.

I hope it’s not as bad as you make it sound, otherwise I would check with a medical professional in case it’s a sign of early onset dementia.
