I haven’t seen the live-action movie, so I can’t say.
Chapter I seems to mostly follow the beats of the graphic novel, with some minor dialogue changes to make the movie flow better. It remains to be seen if Chapter II will include the giant squid, and I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be included.
