FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 10 months agoTo be fair, and I am not comparing the two at all because you can’t compare Ed Sheeran with him, but Elton John only writes lyrics too. Bernie Taupin writes most of Elton John’s music.

Elton John was the person that came to mind when I read that as well, but it’s actually the other way around: Elton John is the composer, Bernie Taupin is the lyricist.
