I banned you for being a fucking dick and it was a temp 7 day ban. I think that is appropriate. If you are a big enough ass hole, calling my children mud bloods I feel fine handing out temp bans. You really should go use arete network or host your own instance. No one is going to want you on their site. It's like 12$ a month and not that hard

This guy is a free speech test case, but I think there may be an issue here. Free speech means free speech for assholes. The userbase needs to wise up and ignore them. No upvotes, no replies and they go away quickly. I don't think @TheSeeer2@wolfballs.com is much different than your average e-Nazi in this way.

I agree, I actually thought I handled it better than most would. Temp bans are a good way to help people participate who otherwise just want to insult. Thats why i only issued a 7 day ban. If a user is really harassing a admin a admin has the right to issue temp site bans or temp instance bans. I also encourage mods to issue temp bans and not permanent bans too.
He said some pretty horrible things about me BTW. And it pissed me off. I'm only human. Most people would issue permanent bans in this case. People have complained to me about free speech when you banned someone from hbd. I say that because this gets complicated.
I am committed to not banning opinions, ideas, viewpoints.
And I am committed to being thick skinned most of the time but again I'm only human. I do think almost any other of our members would have just banned him.

I agree. However, it still didn't work out too good.
We need a culture of radical free speech.
At the same time, I have no problem removing toxic users, but I include the passive-aggressive in that because I am a studied eugenicist.
Some people are just shitheads. Often they never break a rule. But if you keep them around, you turn into Reddit.
