It definitely applies to reddit/lemmy. But also often to YouTube content etc.
Amazon is a shitty employer in the EU too, but nowhere near the US level of insanity, and there are plenty of other equally-paid options. In a certain country I usually had the local national postal service guy delivering me my packages. He looked very relaxed.
