Dudewitbow@lemmy.zip 1 month agoits underrated as a spot for english speakers imo as its of the very short list of countries where you can go to and freely converse with some of the population, as english is one of their primary languages, but culturally be very distinct.

Somewhat related, a growing trend is to offshore English-speaking customer service roles to the Philippines. They have lighter accents and lower pay compared to Indian firms which is attractive to American business.
