Murder investigations can take years to get the person responsible on for trial even when in hindsight the evidence makes it seem obvious who did it.

This is multiple messy messy cases with lots of moving delicate parts that as people who have never done a criminal investigation can’t even imagine. I wouldn’t want to rush into a case and end up bungling it because I didn’t take my time.
