There is a book called the back mechanic. After years of trying everything it changed my life. Get the book.

Good. Take time to read it thoroughly and follow the instructions. Its really good at explaining the physiology of your injury and explains exercises to strengthen your core without exacerbating the injury. Good luck.

How would a book help in these situations?
digitz@lemmy.world 2 years ago
You sleep with your back on the book
cedarmesa@lemmy.world 2 years ago
Lol. Sorta. The book actually has you sleep with back support.

The book itself doesn’t do much. It’s the information in the book that can help.

Har die har har. But honestly what information would really make such a difference (next to the basic things like good posture etc.

In them? Not at all. But by reading it and understanding probable causes and stretches/exercises that can alleviate or prevent the pain, hopefully things would get better.
That being said, consulting a doctor would still be a good idea. But having something you can do immediately, that gives you tools that could help right away, isn’t bad either.

Honestly my dr ordered physio therapy which was all stretches that exacerbated the injury. The book has a different approach that finally worked. For me stretching was just re-injuring the vertebra.
