spujb@lemmy.cafe 2 years agoI think you are right. I got a DM from the mod and it’s about the same answer. I guess I perceived a community that was edgy and ironic and tried to ask my question in an edgy ironic way but didn’t know that the community is primed to not take well to that.
Do just wish there was better context in the sidebar. I was so lost lol.

Lol I bet. I’ve noticed that sarcasm/satire/irony seems to do especially poorly on Lemmy.

I agree but I think the real problem is the current zeitgeist of using satire/sarcasm/irony to mask fascism has made everybody very suspicious, and rightly so.
