I don’t have a horse in this race, but I bet the “I’m curious about this community” question would have been received better without the insinuation that they’re bigots and publicly letting them know that you’re going to block them.
I think you are right. I got a DM from the mod and it’s about the same answer. I guess I perceived a community that was edgy and ironic and tried to ask my question in an edgy ironic way but didn’t know that the community is primed to not take well to that.
Do just wish there was better context in the sidebar. I was so lost lol.
I agree but I think the real problem is the current zeitgeist of using satire/sarcasm/irony to mask fascism has made everybody very suspicious, and rightly so.

Lol I bet. I’ve noticed that sarcasm/satire/irony seems to do especially poorly on Lemmy.
