You could have opened a UTF-8 character encoded text as ASCII. That would explain why there is “gibberish”.

Sorry for the delay in replying, having some issues with Lemmy. I left utf-8 alone as an issue, but it does exist.
The gibberish I was referring to was exports showing 00 as the exchange, even though the log clearly shows incremental numbering.
I suspect that someone hard coded the character offsets, rather than using field separators.
