TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 3 months agoThe Club of Rome predicted the future for in 1972. We are currently in the “business as usual” track. Although we have made modest improvements to carbon emissions, that will not stop collapse. You cannot have infinite growth on a finite planet:

I know all of this! I just refuse to lay down and give up like a rabbit in the headlights. We’re not hungry, not cold, not in survival-mode, yet. We’re still the lucky ones, so let’s live up to that. You can cry when our time has actually come.

I’m not crying. I came to terms with collapse 5 years ago. I love my children, we have fun and discuss the world’s situations. But I don’t give them false hope. I’m preparing them to live in a sustainable community. “Doomer” is a made up word that only serves apathy. Fight for change to mitigate the damage.
