transientpunk@sh.itjust.works 3 months agoI’ve always held that belief about block vs shtedded/sliced cheese, but in my receny grocery trips, I’ve noticed that all the stores in my area charge the same by weight for block, shredded, and sliced. Obviously YMMV

Same for me. It used to be the case that a block of cheese was cheaper than sliced or grated, but at some point in the last 10 years it’s evened out. That’s the case for every store I shop at.
