You seem to be using GNOME, right? The dash shows number of notifications in GNOME, not what the app actually reports as number of notification as Slack doesn’t have any integration like that on desktop Linux. What you need to do is to clear your desktop notifications history.

Thanks, a previous reply hinted at this as well and it worked. It’s a shame it doesn’t sync, I used discord and other apps and they all sync properly. I edited my post accordingly.
