Sadly died of cancer. Apparently fought it for some time, but kept it private.

That’s a shame. I had no idea he was 70.
It’s weird: 10 years ago I would’ve said, “Well, 70 is a good long life, right?” But now I have parents that age and it doesn’t feel that old.

Yeah, 70 is too young.
I think most people imagine themselves living until 90-100. Sadly there aren’t any guarantees in life.

I nearly died when I was 30. Made me way less optimistic about making it to 90. Now I just want to live long enough for my kids to be adults (60), everything else is just gravy.

I was in that boat. I'm 56 now, and I've already had friends taken by cancer. It seems much more like a crapshoot at this point.
