Comment on Fandom won’t allow adblockers
miadidi@lemmy.world 1 day agoMy use-case for browsers is just searching stuff, opening a website, reading stuff—the basics. Even on desktop the only extensions I use other than ad-blockers are Bitwarden, Sponsor Block and Return YT dislikes.

Since you’re into YouTube extensions, also consider adding Enhancer for YouTube and DeArrow. The former adds more features to the player (my favorite is the ability to fine-tune playback speed with the scroll wheel), and the latter removes the clickbait thumbnails and returns to the old method of auto-generating the thumbnail (taking a screenshot of an interesting segment of the video and using that as the thumbnail, just like the old days). That way the content has to actually be interesting before I consider clicking on it.
And on Android the only thing you need is YouTube Morphe, which is a modded version of the YT app that includes an adblocker, SponsorBlock, DeArrow, Enhancer, an AI slop filter—and so much more—built right into the app. It’s a must-have for any Android user who watches YouTube.
