No. Self-references are interesting from a philosophical standpoint, and are often the cause of apparent paradoxes in logic.

"Is this a stupid question?" is an example of self-reference and can thus lead into exploration of the topic if only as a way to avoid any difficulties its apparent lack of information otherwise presents.
