Yeah, basically all electronic music was invented in the nineties, little remained to discover. Idm and breakcore already came about with the crazy structures. Dubstep is the one major missing link, but it’s pretty straightforward evolution from dnb.
Fun fact: Scorn’s ‘Greetings from Birmingham’ came out in 2000 (made by former Napalm Death drummer Mick Harris), but somehow the dubstep genre got entirely hijacked by the London people later on.
