The median will be rising because of the obscene amount that billionaires have accumulated over the period since COVID.
When you look at a middle point, and one end moves dramatically, the middle shifts as well.
To get a genuine look at what is happening for the average American, there needs to be correction for the oligarchs.

The problem with your argument is that there are so few billionaires, it’d take forever for a shift in their income to result in a significant adjustment of the median income.

Bullshit. Currently 700 billionaires in the USA, between 2020 and 2026 their collective wealth increased by over 70%.
Enough to have a meaningful impact on the median.
