Because if she dislikes kids, yet doesnt want to see them hurt, she hence, likes kids, just not express/admit it, be in denial(A good person always wants a good rival for life, not end them, where would the fun in that be?). She can be protective of her friends, throwing herself into situations to protect them, even when they never asked her to. So may have mood swings occasionally or frequently, depending on scenario. Harsh on the outside, deeply caring underneath like a melow fruitcake(Thorned marshmellow or cactus w/flowers metaphor).
