some of they are brutal apparently, like that one union one with kellogs? or that chip factory. that was in the news years ago.

Some are, yes. I’ve worked a number of different positions in a local factory and most of them weren’t a big deal.
A few were rough, though, for sure. Can con-fucking-firm.
