Regarding what he said about paedophilia: while nobody could justify it, I don’t think it’s the best example of his extremism. He was molested by a priest at 13. That experience would give anyone fucked up views around sex and consent. Maybe he adopted that view so he could rationalise his own sexual abuse as consensual. I hope that in his shoes I would’ve found a better way to cope with that trauma.

As for the rest of his extremist views, presumably he came by those honestly so fuck him.
