There is a Lidl opening near me, I’m bursting with energy to use it instead of Sainsburys if they don’t have AI cameras. It feels like going to prison shopping at Sainsburys now

A mate of mine is a manager at Lidl and he says they’ve had AI cameras installed recently. From looking around online it looks like they trialled it in London a year ago. My friend’s store is up North so I guess they’re rolling it out everywhere else.
Apparently they can detect people putting objects in their pocket and there’s an overhead message telling them to take it out. I’m looking forward to going and experimenting to see how shit it is.
