They also have the biggest and most well equipped military in the world. I dont see it going well for the average citizen there. You’re going to need a LOT of help for any type of resistance too. I don’t think the average american has access to things like tanks or armored vehicles either. Maybe drone warfare would happen? Not a good outlook.

Now if you could somehow convince them all to stop working and make the economy come to a halt, that might make the elite class worried and be forced into reaching a resolution without violence. Doubt it could ever be that easy or simple though, and is just a pipe dream at this point. Americans might be screwed forever if they can’t work together or agree on anything at all.
