kayzeekayzee@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 day agoYeah so many of those “freebies” I mentioned sound like bare basic stuff, but then you actually get out there and realize that a lot of coworkers are completely incompetent besides a few very specific areas of expertise. People who can self-teach are very nice to work with.

Yeah, usually also means they have lots of skills up their belt, which they didn’t consider listing, whereas folks that do not self-teach will only know what they’ve been formally taught.
And formal education really does not cover a lot of topics.
