You’re asking people mostly disconnected from global affairs, buried under poor working conditions, to take part in something that will take the pathetic and worse existence they are living now into a direction that is SIGNIFICANTLY worse.

It’s when those in charge start destroying the circus and the bread isn’t affordable people usually revolt as well. They’re in the process of that (ID laws for internet and rising food prices) but we haven’t reached a point where essentially death is a preferable outcome to not doing anything.
