I’m assuming his normal cage is larger. Pro tip, you can also use newspaper to line the bottom of the cage. I used to use news paper for my bird, a 1 dollar Sunday paper will last forever. Change and clean the water dish regularly, they get pretty gross. I would at least rub it with my hands every change and actually clean once a week. Should also change the paper about once a week as well. They are very sensitive to dust especially from dried poop. Probably changed food dish every 2 to 3 days. You can see what they’ve eaten. They also like vegetables, but, double check before feeding him stuff and crackers and popcorn. I think my bird just like to make a mess lol I know this is unsolicited advice, I’m sorry.
