I think it is a good thing.
As Premier,She has has completed some achievements in her time that will put the state back on track, but the opposition (not “The Opposition”, but the corporate interests interested in degression) have painted her as evil and destructive to the state.
A fresh face would be good for the party, and if they are able to make some less significant, but more visible achievements, Labor will be lined up for another landslide.
They just need to take the opposition’s propaganda and complete a few token achievements; if all they do are the fix the potholes, that would probably be enough.

I think part of it is that weird Aussie “fair go” sentiment: “these guys have been in long enough, time for the other mob to have a crack” - before doing a quick 180 shortly thereafter, as soon as we realise what an absolute shit-show a Libs/ONP state gov’t would be.
