Whether or not the Liberal Party will recover is moot. The Capitalist class will just reform under a new banner, out of the ashes, just as they did before.
It’s not hard to be cynical when you realise every such party throughout the history of Australia was predominantly built upon the notion of opposing the party of labour.

Very few Aussies are in a position such that their money earns their income, rather than their labour.

I’d say it’s a mix, most Australians would have some sort of equity in stock or investment property or something like this

I’m a 40-something white collar worker earning a six figure income, that predominantly is as a result of my labour.
Just because my wife and I own shares that pay dividends, as well as having a few other sources of “passive” income mean that we aren’t part of the labour force.
The Capitalist class refers to individuals with an 8+ figure net worth who’s primary source of income is passive - ie. their wealth and political influence is on a scale that dwarves what the other >99% of the nation.
