The acquaintance was a attacked by a knife and received injuries, wither they were from a stabbing or slashing seems a pedantic argument to me, the attacker was was suffering from a psychotic break and was attacking people of many religions, to cherry-pick parts of his rampage and assign him motives he himself has never espoused is obviously driven by political agendas and to push certain narratives, not to actually show the truth behind the events
