You have to specifically asknfor it in the US, and they act like it’s a crazy request. And they usually won’t give you your PD.

boudica@lemmy.world 2 weeks agoNot sure where you’re located but I’m pretty sure providing the prescription automatically is standard almost everywhere after an eye exam.
I’ve worn glasses for decades and have gotten annual exams in all parts of the world. Always got a printout of my prescription and never had to ask.

I’m US American, and everyone I know including me has had to specifically ask for a copy of the prescription, and they usually try to leave information like the PD off. It’s scummy as fuck.
