Because it’s cheaper to go to McDonalds than it is to get a decent home-cooked meal. If you want to fix obesity, make it easier and cheaper to cook and eat a home-cooked meal.

It isn’t anymore, McDonald’s costs quite a bit more these days. It does require infinitely less effort though, and is very appealing when you are permanently exhausted by modern life and have very little time to make home cooked meals
