I’d say most about this hobby is not complete shit. There are many games with live services and micro transactions, but not all of them. And even those that have them, you can usually avoid them.

Costs are certainly going up, unfortunately, but that’s not because of the hobby being shit. That’s because of the AIpocalypse (hardware) and monetary inflation (game prices).
