That we are pointing out that the lady in the meme is not conventionally attractive, when we don’t really need to.
Maybe we all feel collectively uncomfortable that we recognise that she is conventionally unattractive which leads to feeling cognitive dissonance, and end up expressing it as concern for her or outrage that she’s being used in a meme? When the crux of the joke may not really be her appearance, but rather the premise, someone peering into a box with a saccharine smile, photographed from an awkward angle inside the box itself.
I think the meme is funny regardless of who is portrayed as the ‘titan’.

Thank you for putting in the time to so thoroughly explain what you meant. I agree completely. This me meme would hit the same no matter who it was. And really, if it was a conventionally handsome man, it would likely be more “making fun of his appearance” than it is with this lady. A dude with a chiseled jawline looks way more like a titan physically, and therefore his looks would be more part of the joke.
