Comment on WNBA facing major backlash after controversial Caitlin Clark decision
Rhoerii@thelemmy.club 2 days agoYou really should. I have been watching games all season this time, and it’s crazy. Most of the teams are so evenly matched that many end within just a few points of each other. So many comebacks. It’s so hard to guess who’s gonna win. Early on this season I was betting a bit on them, but nope. I just couldn’t win. I just can not predict the outcome. It’s like a 50/50 bet each time. lol
I prefer WNBA to NBA to be honest. NBA guys are almost superhuman, so I just can’t get into it. But watching these women play, it’s just much more realistic to me and fun. Also I probably like the underdog status of it all.
Good be that so many people used to hate on the WNBA, it made me sorta like them. lol Go watch some highlights of recent games. Clark gets a lot of the news (and she’s really good), but I don’t think she’s the most exciting one to watch. Lots of good players this season.

If the WNBA players aren’t bricking 3s over and over again like they do in the NBA, that’d certainly be a welcome improvement.
It’s rare, but some female sports have benefits/advantages that the male equivalents don’t have. In womens’ soccer, for example, (my favorite female sport), they don’t flop at all. It leads to more gameplay and less downtime.

That’s exactly my mindset. This is more like watching really great basketball players you can cheer for. Not superhuman multimillionaires who have been loved their whole life (deservedly so, but still…). I like that these chicks have had to fight for everything the whole time. Their pay has usually sucked, tho it’s finally better, but not even close to NBA levels. Many have had to play overseas in the offseason just to get paid decent. So they just play year round wherever takes them. lol
The WNBA games are just more relatable to me.
