Comment on Y'all I'm seriously tempted to go back to Reddit.

I left Reddit a couple of years ago. The world view of management there was not compatible with mine. I don’t think anything there has changed.

I joined mastodon.radio and lemmy.radio at a similar time, then Bluesky.

There is a sense of community on my Mastodon instance and setting the local feed as my landing page contributed significantly to that.

On Lemmy I’m still finding my way. I clicked on the local feed and found your post, but I’m not sure how to make it this default. Normally I have it set to All and scroll through a bunch of stuff, commenting when I feel inclined.

The first block words made a great improvement and I’ve been pretty ruthless in blocking instances and accounts that post misinformation, though I’ve found myself in the middle of a fight I didn’t realise I was having on a couple of occasions, blocking made that disappear.

I miss certain aspects of Reddit, some of the “in” humour, but I suspect that we can grow that here as we want.

I can say that the fediverse experience has overall been an improvement from a mental health perspective, though I will note that the app you use contributes significantly to the experience.

I’m currently using Pachli and Voyager, but both are under review for different reasons.

Ultimately, I think it’s important to remember that we’re all here to find and talk to each other, sharing experiences and stories, the platform is not the reason, just the place.
