Very poetic ending :)

They vanish one by one. I am left with the ghost of a family that only ever existed long enough to frighten them. My sons! They are lost to me, not to death, but to recognition. I remain here, a mother only in the wreckage of the experiment, watching the door they fled through. And the house is quiet again.
