I bet the authors see this destruction-of-demand as bad news.

lol, embrace the future, grandpa. I haven’t driven to work in an office for years. When I have to go to a place of business, its in an EV powered by my rooftop solar.

As usual, the poor people bear the brunt of economic hardship as they are stuck with work that demands they be somewhere and a vehicle that runs on petroleum. But electric cars keep getting made, used, and sold for cheap. But the solution to the problem is not to uphold a way of life and distribution of resources that made sense a hundred years ago.
